Introducing a new Online Course – Building Skills in Legal Information and Referral

Registration opens today for a new 8-week online course developed by Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) and the Ontario Library Association (OLA).

The course will be presented in a series of short, engaging, video clips. The first four modules will explore the role of library staff in helping people with legal problems and offer tools for providing reliable legal information and referrals.  Legal experts will then guide you through some of the most common legal problems you might hear about from your patrons and provide tips and strategies for finding legal information and making legal referrals. You will complete quizzes and short written responses throughout the course and, when you finish, you will receive a certificate as a Legal Information and Referral Specialist.

The course can be completed in your own time, over an 8-week period, and will run from September 25 through December 1, 2017.
