With an ever increasing need to engage our communities in digital literacy and hands-on technology, the Maker Festival proves to be a valuable event that promotes the tools and resources your library has to offer while helping your community learn more about existing and emerging technology. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, pivoting to a virtual event can mean redesigning how you think about your program delivery and resources. In this webinar, we will explore topics such as how to move hands-on Maker activities online, what technology do you need to execute an engaging event and which digital platforms can be used to connect with your community in unique ways. Pickering Public Library completed their 3rd Annual MakerFest and first ever Virtual MakerFest in 2020 with over 300 attendees tuning in live. This webinar will give you a general overview of the steps you need to take to plan for and execute a successful Virtual Maker Festival at your library. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the webinar.
